Renovations are complete at the historic Edgar Allan Poe cottage in the Bronx where fans can once again learn about the life and legacy of the famous writer.

Repairs were done to both the inside and outside of the 19th century farmhouse where Poe spent his final years.

Some lucky fans won the chance to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty by participating in the restoration process.

"You know close to $500,000, almost a year of actual restoration, complete inside and outside work and it just kind of sparkles right now which is great," said Historic House Trust Executive Director Frank Vagnone.

The Edgar Allan Poe cottage is also where the author wrote his famous work "Annabel Lee".
