President Barack Obama targeted young voters in Virginia with a stop at Norfolk State University Tuesday.

He told students that electing Republican challenger Mitt Romney would be a step backwards for the nation.

Obama also told the crowd not to get discouraged by negative ads and to spread the word.

"But Virginia, that depends on you," he said. "It depends on you registering to vote. It depends on you showing up to vote. It depends on you setting an example for the next person in class, or in your workplace, or in the next town, or your cousin in the next state. You've gotta call them and you've gotta let them know what's at stake."

Obama once again accused Romney of not supporting college students.
