1953...Two days after New Yorkers Julius and Ethel Rosenberg are put to death for passing atomic secrets to the Soviets, 10,000 people jam the Brooklyn funeral home where services for the couple are held.
1993...Mets pitcher Anthony Young chalks up his 23rd consecutive loss, tying a major league record dating back to 1911. Young goes on to break the record the following week.
