NY1's weekly segment "Your Weekend Starts Now" shows entertaining picks for great things to do this weekend all around the city. NY1's Stephanie Simon filed the following report.

Gingerbread Extravaganza 2014
Like gingerbread cookies? You will not want to miss the annual gingerbread extravaganza in the atrium of Le Parker Meridian Hotel. Top NYC restaurants and bakeries have outdone themselves with the amazing NYC inspired Gingerbread structures. Viewing is free, but for a $1 donation, you can vote on your favorite. The event benefits City Harvest.

”Soul Doctor”
Just in time for Hanukkah, check out the new Off Broadway version of Soul Doctor at the Actors Temple Theatre on 47th Street . The musical celebrates the life of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach also known as the Rock Star Rabbi. Tickets start at $79.

”Noel Nights”
See Rufus and Martha Wainwright's "Noel Nights" with special guests, Friday night at The Town Hall. Tickets start at $55.

Home for the Holidays
Kelli O'Hara and Matthew Morrison perform with the NY Pops in a special holiday concert at Carnegie Hall Friday and Saturday night. Tickets for Home for the Holidays start at just $34.

”Make Music NY
Celebrate the first day of winter with "Make Music NY.” 13 free musical parades are taking place throughout Sunday across the city. Anyone can join in.

”The Long Christmas Dinner”
