The many flavors of the Bronx are being sampled during the borough's first ever Restaurant Week.
More than 30 restaurants are offering special deals starting Tuesday.
"Savor the Bronx" features restaurants of all different cuisines offering diners a chance to experience the borough's variety of cultures at a discount.
At the Bronx Ale House in Kingsbridge, customers can get a lunch special paired with their choice of one of many local beers.
"We hope that people who haven't been to our place before might discover it because of 'Savor the Bronx' and also that new and existing customers might get a great dish and a great deal," said Bronx Ale House Co-Owner James Langstine.
"More and more folks can either come back to their favorite place or they get to experience a new place that they've never been to before. So that's what we want, we want folks not just from the Bronx but from beyond our borders to come and see the new borough, see the new Bronx," said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr.
Rather than restrict restaurants to a set promotional price, owners were able to make their own deal. Some offer complimentary coffee and dessert, some a 20 percent discount and some -- like Leibmans Deli in Riverdale -- are offering a special $11.99 pre-fixe menu.
"It was a fantastic deal actually. I came in looking for a bagel and switched my order because its such a great deal," said one Bronx diner.
"I think we get a great price for something special, something that's not our regular meal here," said another.
Bronx Restaurant Week runs through November 13.
