A Brooklyn Navy Yard employee is dead after falling five stories down an elevator shaft.

Police say Inunion Tursunov, 25, was inside an elevator at 63 Flushing Avenue when the power went out.

They say he nudged the doors of the elevator open and stepped out, not realizing the elevator was between two floors.

He was pronounced dead at Brooklyn Hospital.
