The first lawsuit resulting from last month's hard landing at LaGuardia Airport has been filed.
Jacqueline Young was on board a Southwest Airlines plane when its landing gear collapsed as it came down on the runway.
She was among six passengers who suffered minor injuries.
The lawsuit alleges pilot error.
"Pilots should be trained to land planes properly," said Attorney Sanford Rubenstein. "Not with the nose down when it shouldn't be down, but with the nose up so it lands without skidding, as this plane did."
The lawsuit also charges Southwest with negligence and infliction of emotional distress, seeking punitive damages for injury.
A spokesperson for the airline said it can't comment on pending litigation.
