Police say a city school student choked to death in Brooklyn.
Investigators say the 21-year-old choked on some food while at one of the schools housed in 284 Baltic Avenue in Carroll Gardens.
They say emergency medical workers responded and took the student to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Sources say the Special Commissioner of Investigation is looking into the incident to ensure protocol was followed.
In a statement, the schools chancellor said, "I am deeply saddened to hear of this loss, and my heart goes out to the student’s family and the entire school community. We will have guidance counselors at the school to help support the community during this tragedy."
