Another portion of the Second Avenue Subway is now complete as workers finished the shell for the 86th Street station.

They'll now begin installing elevators, escalators and other architectural finishes.

Work on the Second avenue subway began in August of 2011.

The MTA is currently in phase one of the project, constructing new stations at 72nd, 86th and 96th streets.

When completed, the MTA says that the new line will reduce overcrowding on the Lexington Avenue line by as much as 13 percent.
