HBO's newest drama "Boardwalk Empire" is filling the financial void in the city's film industry created when "Law and Order" was cancelled earlier this year.

The show about Atlantic City's gangster underground in the 1920s is actually filmed in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

According to Crain's New York Business - "Boardwalk Empire" has an annual budget of $65 million and employs 1,200 people.

Crain's says the city beat out other locations because of its favorable tax breaks and supply of top-of-the-line crews.

The money should keep rolling in, as "Boardwalk Empire" has already been renewed for a second season.
