Times Square bombing suspect Faisal Shahzad reportedly asked investigators why the bomb he built failed to detonate.

A law enforcement official told the Associated Press that Shahzad was questioned for two weeks inside a Brooklyn hotel room.

Officials say Shahzad thought about targeting other landmarks, including Grand Central Terminal.

Meanwhile, according to the Los Angeles Times, authorities have arrested a Pakistani army major linked to Shahzad. The major's arrest marks the first time someone in Pakistan's military has been linked to the case.

U.S. security officials are meeting with their Pakistani counterparts to discuss the latest in the investigation.

CIA Director Leon Panetta met with several Pakistani officials including President Asif Ali Zardari Wednesday. The CIA praised Pakistan's cooperation in the investigation into the failed bombing.

Shahzad faces five felony charges, including attempted use of weapons of mass destruction and attempted acts of terror. The most serious charges against him carry a maximum sentence of life in prison.

When he made his first court appearance Tuesday, he did not enter a plea.

The U.S. Attorney's Office in Manhattan says Shahzad provided valuable intelligence. Authorities say he admitted to driving a bomb-rigged sports utility vehicle into Times Square and to receiving terror training in Pakistan.
