Former famed New York Jets running back Curtis Martin was inducted into the Football Hall of Fame on Saturday.

Martin was introduced in Canton, Ohio by Bill Parcells, his coach with both the Jets and the New England Patriots and Jets.

The running back thanked his mother, who he said sacrificed a lot for him, and his coach for pushing him to be better.

"He said some people get better at that same routine over and over in life. But there's few people who commit to the next level," said Martin. "And I tell you, that left an impression on me that even though I know I worked hard, it made me work harder."

Martin is the league's fourth-leading all-time rusher with more than 14,000 yards.

The five-time Pro Bowler spent eight years with the Jets before retiring after the 2005 season.

Among those inducted along with Martin were linemen Willie Roaf, Chris Doleman and Cortez Kennedy.
