The ING New York City Marathon's organizers have changed course and will now allow runners to check bags and other personal items before the race.

Runners have been complaining since organizers announced a new no-bag policy last month.

The goal was to reduce post-race congestion for the 47,000 runners at the finish line in Central Park.

Runners who do not check a bag will get an early exit from the park and quickest access to the family reunion area.
