Drivers in The Bronx are getting a break from parking rules.
Starting Wednesday, street cleaning and alternate side of the street regulations will be temporarily suspended in parts of Riverdale, Kingsbridge, and Spuyten Duyvil.
The suspension also applies to part of Marble Hill, which is technically in Manhattan.
This will last for six to eight weeks while Department of Transportation crews install 2,200 signs with new, reduced parking regulations in Community Board 8.
That will be followed by more work in the district, replacing a total of 3,600 signs.
This is all part of a citywide effort to reduce the strain on local parking.
In many areas, street cleaning regulations will now be in effect just once a week as opposed to twice.
