The man taken into police custody over the weekend in connection to a series of muggings in Central Park was released Monday after sources say he was not picked out of a police lineup.
However, the 20-year-old is facing weapons charges because sources say he had a 38-caliber revolver in his possession when he was arrested.
Police are looking for three men they say mugged three people at gunpoint on Sunday morning in Central Park,
The mugging is the third in Central Park in recent days. On November 2nd, a man was held up near East Drive on the Great Lawn. A week before that, another man was attacked on 97th Street and West Drive.
Police do not believe the incidents are connected.
