A funeral was held Friday for a Connecticut teenager who was accidentally shot and killed in Williamsburg, Bronx last weekend.

Loved ones paid their final respects to 16-year-old Tashawn Bromfield at Crawford Memorial Methodist church in Williamsbridge.

A burial is set for Saturday morning.

Meanwhile, police were still searching for the gunman on Friday.

The shooting happened last weekend on Fenton Avenue, and sources say the suspect fired from the passenger seat of a four-door sedan.

Tashawn was hit once in the chest while he was in a courtyard with a group of friends.

"It was so unfortunate that a simple trip to visit his dad in the Bronx ended up being a nightmare for his whole family," said a mourner. "And we're just here to support the family and say that it's a big loss."

Sources say police do not believe Tashawn was the gunman's intended target.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS, or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
