Police were called to a Bronx home Tuesday after a woman discovered a military explosive.
Police say the woman discovered the old mortar round while cleaning out the Throgs Neck home of her uncle after he passed away.
According to sources at the scene, the house belonged to a World War II veteran.
Police say finds of military explosives like Wednesday's are common, usually among people who brought them home from war zones.
