Police say the suspect in the killings of three Brooklyn shopkeepers may have been preparing to strike again.

Officers caught up with Salvatore Perrone, 63, at a Bay Ridge pharmacy Tuesday after someone recognized him and called police.

They say he willingly gave himself up to police and later allegedly admitted to the crimes.

Police say he was seen on surveillance video near the shop where 78-year-old Vahidipour Rahmatollah was shot to death.

He was carrying a duffel bag, which was later found at his girlfriend's apartment, where he was staying.

Police say the bag contained multiple weapons, including a sawed-off .22 caliber rifle.

They say it was used in the killing of Rahmatollah, as well as Mohamed Gebeli on July 6 and Isaac Kadare on August 2.

In addition, Police Commissioner Ray Kelly also said Perrone scoped out other locations.

"I think it's reasonable to assume that he was going to continue doing this, and by arresting him, we have saved lives," Kelly said.

Perrone is charged with murder and could face life in prison.
