Police are searching for a man they say robbed an elderly woman in Manhattan this past weekend.

Investigators say the man followed the 85-year-old woman into an elevator at a building on West 13th Street Saturday night in the West Village.

He knocked her down and stole cash and other items.

The woman was not hurt.

The man is described as being about 35 years old, over six feet tall, and weighing between 200 and 230 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a brown sweatshirt and a brown winter hat.
