Police have arrested a man who they say posed as a correction officer in the Bronx.
The New York City Department of Correction said that Matthew Matagrano, 36, tried to gain access to their facilities twice in two days.
During the second incident, officials said he tried convince three officers at the the criminal court building in the Bronx that he needed to re-arrest an inmate there.
One of the officers recognized him from a photo distributed by the department and arrested him.
Sources tell NY1 that Matagrano has tried to gain access to the city's jails before and was using a fake or stolen ID badge.
