The suspected driver in Sunday's deadly hit-and-run in Brooklyn that left a husband, wife and their prematurely born son dead was arraigned in New York City late Thursday night.

Julio Acevedo faces charges that include criminally negligent homicide and leaving the scene of an accident.

According to his defense attorney, a charge of vehicular manslaughter was dropped by prosecutors.

Acevedo was extradited to Brooklyn Thursday after turning himself in to police in Pennsylvania Wednesday.

He's accused of slamming into a livery cab carrying a young couple early Sunday morning.

It's believed that the BMW was going twice the speed limit.

The judge sent Acevedo to jail with no bail. He did not enter a plea.

NY1 spoke to Acevedo's defense attorney, Kathleen Julian, who said she was denied access to her client.

"It's upsetting," Julian said. "It wasn't a matter of interfering with anything. I said, 'Just give me 30 seconds just to pop in and let him know whether I'm here.' I don't know why they refused me."

Newlyweds Nachman Glauber and his wife Raizy, who was seven months pregnant, were killed in the crash.

Their baby boy was delivered by cesarean section at the hospital, but died a day later.
